Olmo House

Cariló, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The house was designed to accommodate three women and a couple. The program is developed as a continuous space that provides spaciousness and flexibility. The building code prevents the construction of two houses on the same lot. Therefore, at the end of the entrance hall, the living room, the dining room, the study and the bedroom there is a box-shaped construction for the master bedroom. Among the project conditions, it was important to exploit the orientation and views to avoid different levels inside the house and not to exceed150 m2 of construction. The house is implanted on the steep sloping side of the lot with excellent views of the forest. Its ground floor has a terrace, which is supported by concrete corbels. To the south and southeast, the service area is connected to the house creating its own protection. Basic materials and technology were used for the foundation and walls and a steel structure for the roof.
